To grow your blog, you will need to write quality, unique content that has some worth to the reader. Not only that, you should be posting at least 3 times per week although its always best to post an update daily to increase traffic, keep your current readers happy and grow your search engine listings. Below i have listed a few ways to help you keep your blog fresh.

To post daily updates on your blog, you must have a vast amount of knowledge on the topic your blogging about as well as been passionate about the subject or you may get bored and stop posting. Its no good posting one per day for a week and then not posting for another week. You must be consistent and have some ready made posts, if your not up for it that particular day.

Wordpress has a great feature that allows you to time stamp your posts, which basically schedules your post for the date and time you set. If you have 3 or 4 in the bank then your blog will post on autopilot until the posts run out. I use this regular as i may have some days when im unable to make a post due to other commitments but the wordpress feature allows me to overcome that issue.

Finding Writing Ideas:

If you have been blogging for a few months on the same blog, you might find yourself struggling to write new posts, you could experience a writers block when you dont know what to write about next, but this can be easily overcome by following a few simple steps.

Check your comments: If you check your comments regular, there maybe someone who has made a comment that wants to know more about a certain post, the reader might have read the post but did not fully understand what you was explaining so you could make another post to clear up what was missed.

Research other blogs: Visit the biggest blogs in your market and see what their posting about. Maybe you can offer your opinion on something that has been posted. This is a great way to find something current to post and will keep your blog fresh.

Change timestamp on old posts: In an emergency, you can change the post date on one of your old posts which will bring it back to the first page. This is not the best way to update your blog and will only be beneficial if you have thousands of posts so no one recognises this.

Re-Write an old post: Check a few of your old posts and see if theres anything you can add to a specific post and create a new one. This gives you plenty of ideas and will get the ball rolling again.

Invite Guest Posters: Many other bloggers in your market are looking for backlinks on relevant blogs and one way for them to grow these backlinks is by becoming a guest poster on relevant blogs. If you can offer a backlink or two to a blogger then in return you will get a quality, unique article on a targeted topic for your blog. Many bloggers that i know are guest posters and so am i.

Look through your categories: Im sure that if you look through your categories and the posts within it, you will be able to find something that is not already there. It will give you a good idea of what you have not yet covered.

Offer post requests: If you add a new page on your blog that allows your readers to request a post, then this will provide you with a steady flow of post ideas. Once you get an email, do a little research, find a few resources and make a post. Then email the person who has requested and he/she may leave comments on the post.
